Brush with fame

Well, not really....I had my second lot of exams today, and one of my examiners was soooo funny...not in an intentional way. You know the guy out of the first series of little britain, the guy that owns the B & B in scotland, and plays the pipe/recorder type thingo while reciting strange riddles and saying "yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees" to everything?
He was my examiner today.
I had an ocular diseases oral exam, and everytime i would say anything correct, he would keep saying "yeeeeeeeeeeeeees" just like that guy. And he looked like him too! Specs and hair and old looking clothes and everything. He was a caricature waiting to happen. If i wasnt wetting myself with nervousness, I would have laughed. Chlamydial conjuncitivitis has never been so funny.

Tulips and the spread eagle...

Howdy,
So not all that much has been happening, I went out the other day with some mates of mine here, out to camden markets and had some lunch. We spotted a local pub there that made us stop and look for a bit... apparently you often get aussies looking at this pub and wondering how they got away with it. You can book in for private parties too. Not really 'laugh out loud' funny, but i havent been anywhere else yet, i have nothing hilarious to write about!! I am planning on going to Ireland after my exams though, pass or fail, i'm gonna go have a bit of fun.
Oh, but, i did receive a LOVELY bunch of flowers today, not trying to brag or anything...but look how amazing they are. Just thought you'd all like to see how good flowers can be.

An all too common household accident

Just quickly because I forgot to mention it last time, for all those who love the fact that Spudulika is an exotic name, I've been catching up on 15 years of the Harry Enfield show. When I haven't been studying of course. It's as funny as it ever was.
Oh, and there's a summer carnival in the park behind my house! Like the easter shows, but you get in for free. :-) And there's less crap entries to be dragged around and forced to look it, they really boil it down to the good bits - rides, games and showbags. And carnies of course.

Hey all,

Latest update, not much new has happened. I've had the mock exam course at the Uni last week which was pretty good, worth the money cos they gave me some really good pointers that would have failed me. Ironically nothing to do with competence, more to do with their particular preferences...and, just like the good old UNSW days, all the examiners tend to have different preferences for how you 'must' do things. But hey, all I have to do is jump through their hoops and then I'm laughing cos I can do whatever the hell I want to my patients.
Within reason.
Also, i FINALLY went to see the musical 'wicked' in central London (I was kinda bummed when I missed out on tickets in NY) with my flatmate magda. It was ok. We were in the nosebleed section of course, but the good thing is that up there you can rent little binoculars for 50p.
So that's all for now, back to the boring studying part...

Madame Tussauds

The other day I met up with Ains, and we decided to do the touristy thing and go to Madame Tussauds wax museum. Now, I had high hopes, because I remembered really loving it the last time I had gone (when I was a kid).
To be honest, I was going for two reasons. Firstly, to see the chamber of horrors. Kinda gruesome, but very interesting. You know, historically. Secondly, I was going so that I could take funny photos with the waxworks. Obviously. It's why most people go. And I'm sad to say I was disappointed on both counts.
It was a ridiculously busy day, i couldn't get a second alone with even my favourite stars (you may notice that several of my photos actually feature complete strangers, cos there was never a second without complete strangers getting in the way), so the amusing photographs didn't really work out. Bobby didn't even get to make an appearance I'm sad to say - i know, i can hear disappointed sighs the world over - but no, he's not in any pics this time.
And as for the chamber of horrors, most of it had been replaced by what's called "chamber live", where instead of walking where there are waxworks, you walk through this narrow pathway with either dim lighting, or lights shining in your eyes so either way you cant see anything, and periodically (about once every 5 seconds) there's an actor in scary makeup hiding in a corner or a doorway who jumps and SCREAMS IN YOUR FACE WAVING HANDS etc etc. Loses its appeal after about 10 seconds. Especially when they're in the roof and they jump down in front of you. Not a lot of historical content there. The whole museum has really gone the route of the trashy theme park I must say.
The only good point, was that Ains and I got half price tickets so I didn't feel quite as ripped off as everybody else. :-)
We then spent the rest of day day walking, markets, gardens etc just enjoying the fantastic weather (haha everyone who said I'd be freezing ...) and then we went for a few beers and some dinner. All round a tops day. Except for the people SCREAMING IN MY FACE. That stayed with me the rest of the day.
I've put up a couple of pics, does anyone know if there's a way you can add captions to the pics you upload to your blog? I can't seem to find a button for it, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

New House

So I've arrived!
Just a quick update today, I'm terribly busy relaxing and doing nothing much.
I'm living in a house in Collindale, in north london, and its lovely! massive room! with a big window too. I'm sharing with three other girls, all very nice, and there's some massive big parks across the road! I'll attach a couple of pics and update you all a bit more later...

oh, and sadly, Mr Brown has lost both eyes during transit, so he'll be looking more realistic for a while. till i can be bothered finding somewhere that sells superglue :-)
